Help Shape the Future of MI Policy Leaders: Board Members Wanted
Since launching the MI Policy Leaders Community, the response has been nothing short of inspiring. From vibrant networking events and a growing resume bank to the launch of our Slack channel, it’s clear there is a strong and growing appetite for connection, mentorship, and professional development among Michigan’s public policy professionals.
To capture that energy and take our work to the next level, I’m excited to announce that we’re building out our first official Board of Directors — and we’re looking for passionate, committed individuals who want to help shape the future of this organization.
Why Now?
What began as a simple effort to fill a gap in Michigan’s policy community has grown into a dynamic, statewide network of changemakers. As interest has grown, so has the need for structure, strategy, and support to keep building momentum. That’s where you come in.
Who We’re Looking For
We are recruiting board members who can bring skills, energy, and a collaborative spirit to this next chapter. In particular, we’re looking for individuals who can support efforts in one or more of the following areas:
Fundraising: Help us build a sustainable model to support our work and grow our impact.
Social Media and Communications: Amplify our message and connect with a broader audience.
Event Planning: Design and execute events that bring people together and deepen community ties.
In addition to these roles, we’re asking all board members to commit a few hours each month to participate in informational meetings with individuals seeking career guidance. Creating a culture of mentorship is core to our mission, and we believe everyone has something valuable to share.
How to Apply
If you’re excited about the idea of helping lead this effort, we’d love to hear from you! To apply, please complete the interest form at:

We’ll be accepting applications through June 30th and reviewing submissions on a rolling basis.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected policy community in Michigan.
